[ psl ] a day in the life

Gwen Stacy likes to pride herself in being the best girlfriend in the world.

Or at least on this side of New York City, where she is currently leaving her Oscorp internship for the day. She hasn't been deterred in the least from continuing her work term, preferring to go on as though her mentor hadn't just turned into a giant lizard only a little more than a month ago.

In fact, maybe it's even more important that she does continue her work at Oscorp - so that she can keep an eye on things for Spider-Man, and so she can find a new mentor, someone else to give her a glowing reference letter and recommendation to whatever school she wants to go to after the year ends.

That's something she hasn't quite made a decision about. Before Peter, she considered Oxford and Cambridge, but things are a little different now. It's not a bad thing but her plans now require a little more care and a little less impulse.

In any case, she's on her way to the subway station when she passes a TV playing (loudly) in a cafe-diner announcing the latest exploits of her (she'll never grow tired of the thought) boyfriend webslinging across the rooftops in pursuit of some new chaos-mongering culprit.

"Increased sightings of Spider-Man continue to bring up the question of police authority over the protection and well-being of New York's citizens. The opinions are split, with those who believe in the masked arachnid and those who think he's more of a danger to the city than what he claims to be.

"But is he a hero or a menace?

"More after this short break."

Gwen rolls her eyes, and continues on when she hears the familiar sound of sirens. A fleet of police cars suddenly wail by at mach speed, whipping the interested heads of random passersby.

Well, where there are sirens, Spider-Man is sure to be too.

She half-considers going home anyway; after all, she's got a lot of work to do ... but Peter's been doing a lot more people-saving than studying lately, and she's allowed to be concerned.

She might be able to help him a little, from the outside of course, and leave the rest to the police. That is what they're there for.

She bites her bottom lip and speeds up her pace, following the sirens.

[ ooc ] permissions

basic stats.

name: Gwendolyne Stacy
age: 17
sex: Female
race: Human
weight: 120 lb
height: 5'6"
appearance: here

permissions.

1. triggers:
Gwen is pretty sensitive about her parents - particularly her dad. For obvious reasons. His death is still fresh and she won't openly talk about him if she can help it.

Masked superheroes may also trigger feelings of loss and, by extension, longing. She is drawn to them as well, partially because of the familiarity, and partially to understand them better. After all, she recently dated and broke up with a masked superhero. She also has a natural tendency to worry for law-enforcement types.

2. medical info:
Gwen has a pretty much perfect bill of health. She is prone to things like the common cold, flu bugs, food poisoning, and any other thing that a perfectly normal human being might be susceptible to. Otherwise, she keeps herself active (she runs), and has no allergies to speak of (food or animal).

3. physical contact:
Gwen is not an incredibly touchy person unless you're really close to her. She tends to give people their space, being polite and reserved, and keeps mostly to herself. But if you're a close friend, or someone she cares a lot about, she might be prone to giving out spontaneous hugs, arm touching and that sort of thing. People she's romantically linked to are allowed to see an even more affectionate side to her.

4. romance/sexual relations:
Simple flirting and that sort of thing is totally okay and doesn't require permission, and if it seems like both characters in question are up for it IC-ly, then I will gladly play along. Gwen is a clever girl and she does enjoy flirting with cute boys. Anything more intensely romantic or sexual in nature will have to, of course, be talked over between the muns before anything progresses. Unless you're Peter Parker.

5. canon-puncturing:
At the moment, Gwen is not canon-punctured. If the reason for canon-puncturing is for no other purpose than trolling or amusement, then I'm going to have to politely decline. If there's a reason why canon-puncturing might be useful, or move the plot or CR forward in a productive way, then let's talk about it!

6. threadcrashing:
If it looks like it could lead to something awesome, or even just a simple lawl, I am all for threadcrashing! Just make sure to ask first, in case something was pre-planned with the other muns first. If it's all fine by everyone involved, threadcrash away!

7. empaths/telepaths:
As Gwen has no training against telepaths and empaths, there is nothing to shield her thoughts and feelings from them. So, go ahead and read her emotions and her thoughts.

Empaths might find that Gwen's disposition is somewhat forcefully cheery. She is very determined not to wallow in dark thoughts, her missing her father, and her currently missing Peter. She uses her passion for science and her hardworking nature to distract her from thinking about these things - but they tend to come to her in nightmares. Yay?

Telepaths will find that most of her thoughts are actually pretty boring. They are likely ridden with a some amount of teenage girl angst and thoughts of science and her work, as well as a fair amount of homesickness. Also Peter. Despite herself, he is on her mind a lot.

8. extra:
Anything else you want to know? Feel free to ask!
